Transfer Credit & Advanced Academic Standing: Waive Forgiveness Policy: Select this option to waive the Academic Forgiveness policy. The Forgiveness policy is automatically applied for eligible students who have been readmitted to the University. Students are notified in their decision letters if they are readmitted under the Forgiveness policy. The Academic Forgiveness Policy applies to all grades, including those taken on a pass-fail basis, earned during the pre- vious enrollment period at UT. If a student received a grade of C-, D+, D or D- during the previous enrollment period for aGrade exclusion cannot be removed or applied to another course once it has been posted. Undergraduate students may select up to 9 hours of any combination of UA courses with posted grades of “D” or “F” to be excluded from their cumulative grade point average calculation. Excluded courses cannot be used to satisfy degree requirements. At that point, the student’s only recourse to remain at Appalachian is to enroll during the University’s summer terms until such time that the cumulative grade point average reaches 2.0 or higher, or to use one of the forgiveness policies, which are described in the academic regulations section of this catalog.
