Once the front float is set, repeat the procedure for the rear float. Then adjust the air/fuel mixture as mentioned previously. If you don't have a vacuum gauge, start at 1 1/2 turns out, and adjust until you get the highest idle rpm.

YOu will need to set/check the float level, that is really the only thing you can do before starting the car (if you have an electric fuel pump), if not you will even have to do that with the engine running. 1. Set the float levels. 2. Adjust idle speed. 3. Adjust idle mixture (either use a vacuum guage or adjust for highest idle speed) 4.If adjustment is required use a large screw driver to crack loose the lock screw. With a 5/8" open-end wrench turn the adjusting nut clockwise to lower the float level. Conversely, turn the adjusting nut counter-clockwise to raise the float level. Tighten the lock screw.
