I want to take a parallel class, and I'm choosing between 420 and 483. I'm not a CS major, so I got into 420 easily, but would it be worth it to try and get into 483, or is 420 enough? 2. 1. 1 comment. Best. Add a Comment. 438 is not too bad, MPs may take a bit of time. Very useful information. 425 depends on how many credit hours. 3 CH is very chill. I’ve seen the 425 MPs take a lot of time for others. 461 takes a lot more time imo. Lots of material and time consuming MPs. Learned a lot! Never taken 446, but it’s very math intensive.Illinois Computer Science in Chicago 200 South Wacker Drive, 7th Floor Chicago, IL 606061308 W Main St. Urbana, Illinois 61801. 217-244-3922 (office) email: dchen (at) illinois (dot) edu. If you want experience on the lower level hardware design, I recommend the literal pipeline of ECE 411 to ECE 498 SJP taught by Prof. Sanjay Patel who teaches ECE 408/CS 483 this fall. This class is a pilot offering on design hardware accelerators which is related to the development of GPUs. Highly recommend it as it is a pretty unique project ...Taking it this semester, and so far it's been a pretty relaxed class. Each week is an hour of lectures (that are reasonably dense with math, but again the length is short so it's quite reasonable). In addition, there's a quiz with unlimited attempt with about 6-8 questions, along with a programming homework assignment.CSE 498 Special Topics credit: 1 to 4 Hours.
