Never thought it would work really. I aways thought there was something a little different with the internals between the 36 and the 30. Apparently that isn't the case. Aside from it looking better I'm sure it's a little lighter too.

Despite the large chambering, double stack of large rounds in the mag, and meaty grip, the G30S is a relatively lightweight carry pistol at just over 30 ounces, loaded. I carry mine in a Galco King-Tuk that also carries my 19 & 26.

The 30SF, is on the list of approved. Perhaps this "list" has caused the confusion. Basically, a manufacturer has to have each model they want to sell in California "safety tested". The cost of the testing and the listing aren't cheap. So, if a manufacturer doesn't think they will see enough to be worth the cost, they don't sell them here.Glock 21,30 vs. 21sf, 30sf. ... As for the G30, it fits me perfectly and I don't have an yearning for a 30SF. That being said, if I was buying another 30, I'd probably go for the 30SF just because the grip is a tad smaller and that isn't a bad thing when the grip is beefy as it is on the big bore Glocks.
