Litter-Robot 4 I know this post is going to upset a bunch of people here, but I want to take a moment to share my experience with my litter robot 4. I purchased towards the middle of November as a Christmas gift for myself, I buy myself one big gift for Christmas every year and I have been eye balling the litter robot for quite some time. Find guides & troubleshooting tips. Within 2 weeks I started getting false full errors, and then today it has failed due to the pinch detect fault. I've spent hours watching self repair videos, cleaned the sensors, cleared the pinch detectors, and after 2 cycles it is back to pinch default errors. They over engineered this thing to have sensitive parts exposed to corrosion.

Jan 29, 2023 · If your Litter-Robot is not detecting when your cat enters or exits the unit, there are a few things you can do to try and fix the issue. First, check to make sure that the infrared sensor is not blocked by anything. If it is, move the obstruction and see if that fixes the problem. If not, try resetting the unit by unplugging it for 30 seconds ... I would make sure it is seated correctly, and if you want to make extra sure you can remove it and then try a cycle. Always unplug from the back of the unit as opposed to the wall if you want to do a complete reset. Leave it unplugged for 10 mins and then plug it back in. First one had no trouble with DFI for years; second one I bought refurbished and DFI went in 2 months. I replaced the DFI on first one, that lasted only 2 months. To add, the sensor is two $.01 pieces of plated metal that get litter basically dumped on them with every cycle. So they corrode / get dirty and give tons of false pinch alerts.
