Statics and dynamics course

Understanding the equations governing these static and dynamical systems is at the heart of this course. During this course, we will touch upon the theoretical tools that we have available to us in order to be able to analyse these systems. The world around us is full of engineered systems, such as machines, automobiles, bridges and buildings.

Statics is the branch of classical mechanics that is concerned with the analysis of force and torque acting on a physical system that does not experience an acceleration, but rather, is in static equilibrium with its environment. If is the total of the forces acting on the system, is the mass of the system and is the acceleration of the system, Newton's second law states …It's a page about solving a particular (and common) kind of problem in mechanics. Statics is the most fundamental course in Mechanics. In this course, you will learn the conditions under which an object or a structure subjected to time-invariant (static) forces is in equilibrium - i.e. the conditions under which it remains stationary or moves with a constant velocity-. You will also learn how to calculate the reaction forces ...Statics is often the first time all that math you took in HS and your first year or so in college is put to use. Statics is also often a "washout" course, used to purge out students that are not suited for engineering. Some repeat and do well, but many take it once or twice and move to a non-engineering major.
